A man is arrested in Magoffin County in connection with a deadly drive-by shooting in Floyd County last year.

A dispatcher tells Mountain News that J.R. Allen was picked up in the Middle Fork area.

He is the second person to be charged with murder in connection with the crime.

In August, 2008 Sally Vance was hit and later died following a shootout between people in a car and people in a home on Third Street in Allen.

Vance was a passenger in the car.

Jessie Dulaney, who was driving the car and was also injured, was arrested shortly after the shooting.

J.R. Allen was also indicted and is charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Allen was taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

you all need to get a life and stop making comments about people you don't even know was you there that night i wasn't and i don't think you all was there so you really don't know what happen.know the facts before you start running your mouth about something you don't know anything about, are you supposed to let somebody just come and kill you...humm i don't think so i would have done the same thing if i was in his position and i believe all of you would have to if you father and little kids were in the house that was being shot at. Think about that long and hard and then tell me would you rather let 5 other people die or would you rather step up and save their lives. You all are probably the scared selfish ones that would run and hide while your family is getting shot at and more than likely going to get killed!!

It doesn't matter if he shot in self defense. He is a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He will get time for that.. I hope he goes to prison out of state.... Alaska is a good place for him.
