Car hits school bus in Laurel County, sends several to hospital
We have some breaking news out of London.
Transportation officials from the Laurel County school system tell Mountain News a car travelling the wrong direction at a high rate of speed hit a school bus on Highway 1006 in front of Logan's Car Wash.

Transportation officials from the Laurel County school system tell Mountain News a car travelling the wrong direction at a high rate of speed hit a school bus on Highway 1006 in front of Logan's Car Wash.
We're told 10 students were taken to local hospitals in London and Corbin and were treated and released. Emergency personnel had to cut the driver out of the car. He was flown to UK Medical Center in Lexington for his injuries. There were two adults on the bus, including the driver. Neither were hurt.
The bus was from Hunter Hills Elementary and was carrying students on a field trip to a local church.

I hope the children will all be okay. I know they were frightened. Great job to the bus driver for trying to avoid the crash and reducing the impact. You deserve an award for such heroism. As for the driver of the SUV, I wish you speedy recovery so your trial will be soon, swift, and you get lots of time for this.
