Governor Beshear has appointed Carter County Commonwealth Attorney David Flatt to a vacant family court judge's position.
The incoming judge says his appointment will not change or affect the long delayed trial date for triple murder suspect Robert Drown.
Drown is accused of killing Jennifer Ison and her two daughters in May of 2007.
Flatt says the governor plans to put a new Commonwealth Attorney in place quickly, one who will be ready to go ahead with the Drown case in May 2010.
