He spent years working in concrete and on bridges, but he died in a freak accident on the first day of a new assignment.

Tim Watson of Pulaski County was killed Monday while working on a crane at a Mercer County power plant.

Not only was it ironic that he died on the first day at his new job site, he died one day after hearing his minister preach a sermon on death.

“Yeah the day before the accident he was preaching on how you need to have your life together because you never know when your time is going to come,” Lori Mounce said.

Watson worked for Floyd County-based, Bush and Burchett.

A person there said the company has no comment on Watson's death, which was the second within a month at the Mercer County power plant.
