Former UK player pleads guilty in ticket scam case
Former UK basketball star Derrick Miller now faces close to a year in prison after pleading guilty Wednesday in a ticket scam case.

WINCHESTER, Ky. (AP) - A former University of Kentucky
basketball player has pleaded guilty in a ticket scam case.
Clark County Circuit Clerk Paula Joslin says Derrick Miller was
sentenced to 360 days in prison on Wednesday just after entering
the plea to criminal attempt to theft by deception. Police say
Miller took about $5,000 from two Clark County businessmen for
Kentucky basketball tickets he never produced.
The plea deal requires Miller to pay $2,500 in restitution and
he will also enroll in a Louisville rehab program through the
Volunteers of America.
Miller, who is lodged in the Clark County jail, is accused of
selling UK tickets he didn't have to people in at least five
counties across the state. Miller also faces charges in Fayette
County.
