A Hazard man is arrested for allegedly threatening employees at a post office.

It was business as usual today at the Hazard, Black-Gold post officE...BUT Hazard police say one employee got a threatening phone call early Monday morning.

"A male subject called the post office and threatened one of the employees saying he had a gun and knew how to use it," said Lieutentant Joe Collet of Hazard Police. "He also said he had a grenade and was coming to take some people out and if she didn't want to get hit, she needed to get out of his line of fire."

The post master says at least eight people were working at the time.
Police say 54-year-old Elbert Cornett was arrested at his home and charged with first degree terroristic threatening. He's being held in the Kentucky River Regional Jail on a 20-thousand dollar cash bond. Collett says Cornett has been arrested for various crimes in the past, but this is his first felony.
