LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The search continued Monday for a missing 4-year-old boy by using surveillance cameras from area businesses, although police scaled back their search of the neighborhood a day earlier.

Police were reviewing the surveillance tapes to see if any caught an image of Cesar Aguilar-Cano, who was last seen on Friday afternoon in front of the apartment complex his family lives in near Churchill Downs, said Lt. Phil Russell of the Louisville police department.

More than 200 officers, firefighters and neighbors searched for the boy over the weekend, posting signs in both English and Spanish asking for help in locating him.

Neighbors told police that Cesar was a curious boy who would sometimes run around the apartment complex unsupervised. It wasn't uncommon for the boy to go inside open apartment doors.

An Amber Alert had not been issued because police do not believe the boy was abducted, Russell said.

"There's deep concern about what may have occurred and that he's a 4-year-old and he has no shoes," Russell said.

The high-profile police search of the neighborhood ended because the boy wasn't found and the search went beyond the distance where the boy likely would have gone, Russell said.

Cesar is 3 feet tall and weighs 40 pounds. He was wearing a yellow tank top and gray shorts at the time of his disappearance.

The boy's mother, her boyfriend and her boyfriend's father are all cooperating in the police investigation, family spokesman Christopher 2X said.
