Pikeville native could make MLB All Star game

Pikeville native Mark Reynolds is having a standout season in only his second year in the Major Leagues. Reynolds is batting .269 with 24 homers and 61 RBI. Despite those strong numbers, Reynolds was not elected to the All Star game in St. Louis.
But he still might make it. Fans will have the opportunity to vote on a group of 5 players each from the American and National League for the final roster spot on each team at the All Star game. Reynolds is part of the group from the NL.
The NL candidates: Arizona third baseman Mark Reynolds,
outfielders Matt Kemp of the Dodgers and Shane Victorino of the
Phillies, Giants infielder Pablo Sandoval and Nationals shortstop
Cristian Guzman.

JD, to clear it up, on all of Reynolds' cards it says he's from Pikeville...

How in the world do you consider Mark Reynolds a Pikeville native? His father, Greg Reynolds was a star athlete at Feds Creek High School and a graduate of the class of 1977. His mother, Tammy Keene Reynolds was a very good cheerleader for the Vikings and a graduate of Feds Creek High School class of 1978. She was a member of my graduating class. Although Mark was born at Pikeville Methodist Hospital and stayed two days in the nursery there, he lived at Feds Creek up until the time his parents relocated to Virginia Beach, VA. Two days in the hospital nursery hardly qualifies Reynolds as a Pikeville native. WYMT should research the information before reporting things that makes them look silly.
