St. Francis - Rookie guard Jodie Meeks has agreed to a three-year contract with the Bucks, sources confirmed Wednesday.

Meeks, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Kentucky, was the 41st overall pick in the June draft.

"I'm excited about it and relieved to have it done," Meeks said. "I know they have a lot of confidence in me. I've got to continue to come in here and work hard and show what I can do."

Meeks and his teammates continued workouts at the Cousins Center on Wednesday, in preparation for the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The Bucks will play five games, beginning Friday night against Dallas.

"It shows they have a lot of confidence in me," Meeks said of the contract. "I'm definitely going to prove to everybody I can play on this level."

Rookie point guard Brandon Jennings made some eye-popping plays in the morning workout, including a running lob to the rim for a powerful dunk by forward Joe Alexander.

"That's my game," Jennings said. "I like to get out in transition, get everybody involved, throw a couple lobs here and there.

"Just let the guys have fun out there."

Bucks assistant Kelvin Sampson said Jennings would play "38, 39 minutes, every game" in Las Vegas. "This kid is a gamer," Sampson said. "When the lights come on, he's going to play. He gets through our drills, but as soon as we start scrimmaging, it's Happy Birthday, Christmas morning for that kid."

Jennings got few breaks on the court, particularly after an injury suffered by former Marquette point guard Dominic James on Tuesday. James suffered a sprained right knee after taking a charge, then trying to corral a loose ball during the afternoon session Tuesday.

"I attempted to take a charge and slipped on my own sweat," James said. "I tried to recover and went down. Right now I'm day-to-day but I feel comfortable I'll still be able to play."

James' status is uncertain for the trip to Las Vegas. The Bucks are scheduled to leave Thursday night after a final practice earlier in the day.

"He was turning some heads in here for two days," Sampson said. "I don't think he's going (practicing) today. For him, he's such a great kid, and he has a chance to turn some heads out there. I was really hoping he could go."
