The speculation is over. No more talking heads prognosticating on what seed Kentucky will get. We now know the Wildcats are headed to the United Center in Chicago as a Number 8 seed and they will face the Wildcats of Villanova.

U.K. Coach Tubby Smith talked about his teams draw and said he was hoping U.K. would be a higher seed, but he knows his team played fourteen games against teams that are in the NCAA Tournament.

The U.K. vs. Villanova game will be on Thursday in Chicago. You know a lot about the cats so we'll give you some info on their opponents. The Villanova Wildcats are 22-10 out of the Big East Conference. They average 73 points a game, the same as U.K., they are lead by Forward Curtis Sumpter's 17.3 points and 7.2 rebounds. One stat to keep in mind, Kentucky has played in the last 15 straight NCAA Tournaments and has never lost a first round during this current stretch. It has been 20 years since the Wildcats were one and done in the tournament.

As we said, Kentucky has played 14 games against 12 tournament teams and they went 7-7 in those games. In all of Kentucky's years and NCAA tournaments, they have never played a game in Chicago before. Kentucky's 97 wins in NCAA tournament play are the most of any school. Tubby Smith's .700 winning percentage in the NCAA tournament ranks sixth amongst active coaches.

Eastern Kentucky punched their ticket to the big dance by winning the OVC title. The Colonels did not get any breaks from the selection committee. They are a 16th seed and drew the number one seeded North Carolina Tar Heels. That game will take place on Thursday in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Eastern comes in at 21-11, champions of the OVC. The Tar Heels, winners of the ACC, have a 28-6 record. The Colonels will be shooting for history since a 16th seed has never beaten a number 1 seed.

And let's not forget about Louisville. The Cardinals were rewarded for their late season surge with a 6th seed. They play in Lexington on Thursday against the Stanford Cardinals. Louisville comes in at 23-9, winners in 7 of their last 8 while Stanford comes in losers in 4 of their last 5 and really have not looked very good as of late.
