Kingsport, Tenn. – For the second time in as many years, UVa-Wise’s Brad Robbins captured NAIA All-Region XII baseball status announced on Tuesday night.

The all-region team was selected at the baseball coaches meeting prior to the opening day of the region tournament on Wednesday. The Highland Cavaliers (29-21) play in the second game of the first day against Appalachian Athletic Conference rival King College Tornado (31-16) starting at 5:00 p.m. at Hunter-Wright Stadium in Kingsport, Tenn.

Robbins (Big Stone Gap, Va.) earned his first all-region honors last year when he was second in the NAIA in batting average (.479) and third in slugging percentage (.923). The sophomore leads UVa-Wise for the second time with 11 home runs, 70 hits, 29 extra base hits and a .701 slugging percentage. Robbins is hitting .402 and needs just three hits to break the Cavs’ season record for the category in the regional play. He has drove in 43 runs, scored 46 runs and drew 22 walks.
