Bike Lexington presented by Pedal Power

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - May is an exciting month for cyclists and this year's Bike Lexington Presented by Pedal Power promises many diverse--and mostly free--events! The Family Fun Ride will take place on Saturday, May 31, and will feature a new route that caters to all cycling levels and skills on two wheels. Starting at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza in Downtown Lexington, the Family Fun Ride route will provide a safe shortcut for children on tricycles and training wheels that directs back to the starting point, where children can participate in activities and ride in the Car-Free Kid Zone.

Free registration and tons of fun activities, including Monster Energy BMX Team performances, begin at 8am and the ride leaves promptly at 10am. All participants must register at the event. Please keep in mind that this event is a fun ride that maintains a 10mph pace and is not a race. Celebrate Bike Lexington Presented by Pedal Power by attending these fun upcoming events:

Monster Energy BMX Team Performances on May 29 and May 30, 7pm in Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza

Fountain Films on Friday Presented by Hilliard Lyons featuring American Flyers, beginning at dusk in Triangle Park

The grant will be used to help purchase helmets, bike lights, and safety information that will be available to the public at no cost at the Family Fun Ride on May 31. This grant was made possible with funds generated by the purchase of "Share the Road" license plates by Kentucky motorists.
