LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A Louisville boy has died after being struck in the head by a large tree limb during a sudden storm.
WHAS radio reported Kosair Children's Hospital spokesman Brian Rublein confirmed the death of the 10-year-old Thursday.
The boy was riding a scooter on a neighborhood street Wednesday afternoon when a fast-moving storm tore a limb from a tree and it fell onto him. Neighbors said it was so big they had to use a jar jack to lift it off of the boy.
Family friend Jeff Mason said police put the injured boy in their squad car and took him to Baptist East Hospital. He was then transferred to Kosair.
The boy's name wasn't immediately released.
