Man stabbed twice during Lexington robbery

An early morning robbery sent a man to the hospital. The attack happened at the Central Kentucky Turf company on Payne Street, just off Newtown Pike.

Cledus Stamper lives on the property and says it was his friend who was stabbed, twice. "He's doin' OK. He got some stitches, it scared him," said Stamper.

Police say around 7:30 this morning, an employee was working inside when a man walked in with a knife and demanded money. The employee gave the robber his wallet, but he demanded more.

"He saw that Kevin had an envelope, it was from where we buy scrap cars. He got mad Kevin lied to him about how much money he had so he started stabbing him," said Stamper.

The employee suffered wounds to his leg and chest. The robber got away with a wallet and some company money. Police searched for him but so far he's still on the loose.

Police say the robber was a black man standing about six feet tall. He had a goatee and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
