An argument leaves one man dead and another behind bars. It happened Saturday night in Manchester. Officials say 43 year old Terry Wayne Grubb shot and killed 35 year old Douglas Roberts. Grubb is now being charged with murder.
A shot was fired here on beech creek road in manchester saturday night.
"When we responded, Douglas Roberts was found laying on the ground with a single gunshot wound outside of the residence," said Trooper Delzie Kelly, from Kentucky State Police.
Police say Roberts and Grubb were related through marriage and lived together at the time.
"There was a dispute between Mr. Roberts and Mr. Grubb and that initiated the gunshot," Kelly explained.
Officials do not know what the argument was about. Police say the incident is out of character for that area.
"There are complaints in that area but not specifically there on that road but in the area yes. This is out of the ordinary, a shooting."
Neighbors did not want to talk on camera but they say they have not had issues with Roberts or Grubb in the past. Police say Grubb is being charged with murder. He is lodged at the Clay County detention center. Police are still investigating the case.
