Susan G. Komen Lexington and Tuska Studio will host local celebrities to create ceramic beads on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Susan G. Komen Lexington office located at 324 N. Ashland Ave.
The bead project entitled “One Bead, One Story” is based on the idea that each bead created represents an individual’s story of coping with cancer. Seth Tuska said, “Tuska is also donating a piece of ceramic artwork entitled “Beads” for silent auction that will be at Susan G. Komen’s Signature upcoming Komen Pink Tie Masquerade Ball at the Hilton on August 9th at the Hilton.”
Komen Lexington is so honored to be working with such an established name as Tuska,” said Jennifer Bricking Executive Director of Susan G. Komen Lexington. “Their idea of using art as a healing tool reflects the mission of Komen. We could not be more thankful for their support of Komen and the Pink Tie Masquerade Ball.”
Susan G. Komen Lexington and Tuska Studio are inviting local celebrities and survivors to come to the Komen Office located at 324 N. Ashland Ave. to roll clay beads and hear stories as part of the “One Bead, One Story” project. Some of the beads created at the celebrity bead-making part may also be auctioned off during the Pink Tie silent auction. Any questions about the bead-making party can be answered by calling the Komen office at (859) 368-7133.
