One Wolfe County man was found dead in his home late Saturday night. officials say 44 year old Robert Eugene Bryant was lying in his living room when family members found him.

Robert Eugene Bryant was found dead here in his home on Tolson Cemetary Road late Saturday night.

"Some of the family members had came to check on Mr. Bryant. They had gotten concerned that they haven't heard from him in a few days," said Frank Porter, the Wolfe County Coroner.

Officials say when the family went inside...

"His daughter, her husband and her father in law came to check on him and they wanted to get in so they kicked the back door in and when they did they discovered the body," Porter said.

Porter says Bryant had knife wounds to the neck and chest. He says they are not sure how long he was in the house before his family found him.

"The last indication of anybody seeing him was earlier in the week, possibly Monday or maybe Tuesday. We can't find any evidence that anyone has spoken to him since then."

Porter says the cold may have helped officials learn more about what happened.

"There was no heat on. It actually helped preserve things a little better for the detectives and our office evidence wise."

He says officials are treating this incident as a homicide. Officials have made an arrest on this case. They say 36 year old Lloyd Bryant Jr., Robert Bryant's cousin, and 34 year old Rebecca Wright were charged with the murder of Robert Eugene Bryant.

They were also charged with first degree burglary and tampering with physical evidence. Officials say the accused were already lodged at the Three Forks Regional jail in Beattyville for unrelated charges.
