BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A Bell County High School student is facing charges related to bringing a weapon to school.

Bell County Sheriff's Deputies say the school was on lockdown while they investigated.

Deputies say another student reported seeing a boy with a gun on his waistband. Deputies say when they found the student, he had a large knife on him.

"Upon searching the student, we found a knife. It was not a gun, it was a knife, so we talked to him and investigated," said Max Graves with Bell County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies say they do not believe he intended to harm anyone.

His name is not released because he is a juvenile.
