Officials in one Eastern Kentucky county have voted to give students a free lunch.
The Middlesboro Daily News reports the Bell County school board approved a community eligibility option at Monday night's meeting which allows all schools in high poverty areas to eliminate the use of applications and provide free breakfast and lunch to all students.
Kentucky, Tennessee and Illinois were selected to participate in the new universal free meal service option.
