BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Bell County firefighters plan to re-open the Brownies Creek fire station at the end of the month!
It was closed three years ago during a funding dispute with the county. Now the dispute is resolved and the county is funding the fire department again.
Firefighters plan to re-open Brownies Creek on August 30th. However, right now they only have one volunteer firefighter for the station and say they need more.
"It takes people to build a village and basically that's what you need with your community volunteer fire departments is you have to have the members there to respond," said Bucky Shelby, Bell County Volunteer Fire Department Public Information Officer.
Anyone who wants to volunteer can go to the fire station on August 30th.
Once Brownies Creek re-opens, then all Bell County fire stations will be operational again.
