BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Some Bell County voters will be voting in new locations on Election Day. The Board of Elections has moved four precincts after some fire stations used for polling places were closed and put up for sale.
Clear Creek is moved to the Clear Creek Bible College.
Brownies Creek is moved to the Brownies Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
Colmar is moved to the Graceway Missionary Baptist Church.
Calloway is moved to the Page School Center.
"It's a big change," said Debbie Jackson who used to vote at the Calloway Fire Department building.
Voters who used to go to the Calloway fire station will have to drive several more miles to vote.
"I am driving a little bit further to come out and vote, but I will still come out and vote," Jackson said.
The Board of Elections mailed postcards to affected voters letting them know of the changes, but some postcards were returned.
Now everyone is trying to make sure voters know where to go.
"Trying to get the word out. I know it's been a last minute decision, and we just want people to know that we are open to vote at Page School, and we're going to help out anyway possible," said Joshua Trosper, Assistant Principal at Page School Center.
The new locations are handicap accessible and have plenty of parking for voters.
Officials say the voting machines are set-up and the new polling places are ready for Election Day.
