MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WYMT) - Rain did not stop dozens of folks from taking advantage of some free health services at Middlesboro ARH on Saturday.
Organizers officials say the Community Appreciation and Family Health Fair will be an annual event. The hospital offered free health screenings and education on topics like healthy eating habits, the dangers of smoking, and what immunizations children need.
"A lot of patients don't have the ability or the time to go to their doctor on a regular basis. So we've been able to bring doctors to them and screenings to them," said Michael Slusher, the Community CEO of Middlesboro ARH.
Doctors with Middlesboro ARH and medical students from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee conducted and reviewed medical screenings with patients at the event.
