MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WYMT) - Middlesboro Police say they found a meth lab in an apartment with a baby.

Police say they responded to a trespassing call at Cumberland Village Apartments on Friday and ended up finding the meth lab.

Officers say 39-year-old James Hamlin, III was hiding in a closet with the "one-pot" meth lab.

Police say two other meth labs were also in the apartment.

Officers say his girlfriend, 35-year old Tangia Ellison (also known as Hughett) and her one year old child were there.

Officers arrested the couple on meth and child endangerment charges.

"It's real dangerous to children due to the fact that those gases are heavier and go to the ground and children are usually crawling around on the rugs, that type of thing," said Lt. David Buis, Middlesboro Police Department.

Police say baby is with other family members.
