Mudslide causes Bell County road to close

BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A portion of a Kentucky State Highway was shut down Tuesday morning after part of the road washed away.

Highway 987 in Bell County Collapsed near mile marker 7 because of a mudslide Tuesday morning.

The rain-soaked earth under the road gave way, causing the pavement to crumble.

As of 10am there was still no word on when the roadway would be re-opened.
