Officials discuss how to help small businesses in Eastern Kentucky

MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WYMT) - Some officials are mapping out places that can help Eastern Kentuckians with small businesses.

Officials from the Appalachian Regional Commission, Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College, National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship, and other entrepreneur groups met in Middlesboro on Thursday.

They went over all of the resources available to small business owners in Eastern Kentucky like financing, education, and networking events.

"We have an abundance of expertise but if you don't know about it, it's just like not having it here. Well, sometimes, we need to sit down together and talk to one another," said Samuel R. Coleman, Jr., Director of the SKCTC Small Business Development Center.

The Small Business Development Center in Middlesboro can help small business owners learn about the resources discussed at the event.
