PINEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Senate candidate Matt Bevin, who is challenging Senator Mitch McConnell in the Republican Primary next year, visited the mountains on Monday.
Bevin met with voters in Bell County at The Flocoe restaurant in Pineville.
Bevin talked about his background of serving in the military and being a small business owner.
He took questions from the group and many were about coal and its future.
"The EPA and the environmental regulation is suffocating this entire industry and I will actively fight against the EPA and its suffocation not only of coal but of other industries in this country," said Bevin.
Bevin also said he is against Obamacare and wasteful spending in federal programs.
Bevin visited McCreary County following his visit to Bell County.
