Three charged in illegal gambling operation will be back in court next month

MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WYMT) - Three people charged with running an illegal eastern Kentucky gambling operation will be back in court next month.

36-year old Joseph Akers, 42-year old Harold Wayne Woodward, and 79-year old Dallas Shackelford pleaded not guilty to charges of promoting gambling.

Earlier this month, police seized several gambling machines and cash from the Cumberland Market in Middlesboro.

They are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on February 5th.
