UPDATE 6:00 p.m.
PINEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - One Bell County community is in shock. Police say a husband and wife are dead in what is believed to be a murder-suicide.
Police say Anthony Scott Mace shot and killed his wife Lisa and then turned the gun on himself. Friends and family have no idea why.
Police say at 8:30 a.m., family members found Lisa Mace, 41, and Anthony Scott Mace, 45, dead in their dining room in their home in Woodland Hills. Police say evidence indicates Anthony Scott Mace shot his wife and then shot himself.
"I don't know what to think. I know these people, good people. Had no idea something like that would happen in this neighborhood. It's just a quiet neighborhood. It just shocks you to hear that," said Mike Sproles who lives down the street from the Maces.
Police say there is no record of any trouble at the home for the 19 years the Maces lived there. Police are still investigating to determine a motive for what led to the deadly shootings.
"Just a sad situation, but we're still continuing to investigate what led up to this and hope to have answers shortly," said Trooper Shane Jacobs.
Lisa Mace taught kindergarten at Lone Jack School Center. Students were dismissed early due to Lisa Mace's death. The flag at Lone Jack School flew at half staff on Friday in memory of her.
"We just feel a very tragic loss," said Principal Kevin Wilder.
The principal says she is the only kindergarten teacher and taught almost every student at the school.
"Tears were shed up and down the halls. She touched a lot of lives here. Her students loved her. They really respected her and she was just a super person and a wonderful teacher," said Wilder.
They say the whole community will feel the loss of Lisa Mace.
Counselors and ministers will be at Lone Jack School Center on Monday for students and staff.
Police say Anthony Scott and Lisa Mace's two children are with other family members.
