911 calls from helicopter crash

CLAY Co., Ky. (WYMT) - Listen to what dispatchers heard moments after a medical helicopter crash in Clay County.

Pilot Eddy Sizemore, paramedic Herman "Lee" Dobbs and flight nurse Jesse Jones lost their lives as emergency medical services responded to a fiery scene.

There are chilling sounds of panic from the first 911 call.

"Yes, I believe a helicopter has crashed over here at Paces Creek school. It's on fire. You need to get somebody up here now," said the first caller.

Clay County Dispatchers told callers they were on their way.

"Oh God. Lights just went out and everything," said the first caller.

The second caller urged dispatchers to hurry.

"Alright, I'm looking at it. It's a big fire," said the second caller.

Call after call came in about the crash.

First responders would soon learn it would be some of their colleagues involved.

A community in shock as they realize the three Air Evac team members died instantly as heroes.
