Crews spent all day Friday sifting through the crash site at Paces Creek Elementary in Manchester, but the scene is now clear.
Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration searched through the wreckage.
They took pictures and documented the scene while moving parts onto trucks and into bags.
A NTSB investigator says they still do not know the cause of the crash, but are beginning to rule some things out.
“All of the evidence to some of the fractures show that most of the fractures were impact damage. In other words, once it hit the grounds things started to break, and we're starting to see that,” said Shawn Etcher NTSB Investigator.
The helicopter wreckage is being sent to Georgia for further investigation.
