CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Volunteers from Goose Rock Elementary are sending donations to folks still stranded by flood damage.
Numerous families cannot leave their homes because of damaged roads and bridges.
The volunteers bagged items such as food, towels and bottled water.
The school’s principal opened the school for anyone to collect donations and have access to water.
Melanie Estep lost her home to the flood and says that the donations mean a lot.
“We can't really go into the home right now. I mean everything was under water, so i mean it's kind of just bad. I don't know. It's just a devastation,” said Estep.
The school will be open tomorrow for those in need.
