A Clay County man is due in court Monday morning for attempted murder charges.
Police say 34-year-old James Watts attempted to shoot and kill two people at a home on
Owens Rd. in Manchester.
Witnesses told police that watts came to the home with two guns and pointed them at one of the victims and pulled the trigger.
Police say the gun jammed so Watts then began to beat one of the victims.
Yet, they say their investigation shows the victims may have been involved in drug activity.
“We're still under investigation why he was there, what he was doing there but our current investigation leads us to believe that Mr. Watts was there for drugs,” Chris Fultz.
Watts is also facing charges for trying to bribe officers during his arrest.
