FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Former Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer says he wants the amount of child support he's required to pay for his children to be reduced because of the loss of his elected position and other circumstances.
The Courier-Journal reports Farmer also says he's scheduled for surgery this month and will be incapacitated for at least two months. Farmer's lawyer previously said Farmer hasn't been employed since his term expired Jan. 1.
Farmer and his wife, Rebecca Farmer, were divorced last month.
Farmer, a former University of Kentucky basketball player who ran for lieutenant governor last year, didn't respond Monday to a message on his cell phone. Lawyers for him and his ex-wife couldn't be reached for comment.
