CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A truck stolen from a business in Winchester has been recovered in Manchester.

The owner of the 2003 Peterbuilt told WKYT's Phil Pendelton on Friday morning that she firmly believes our story on Thursday night was the sole reason their truck was recovered.

The truck was taken from TCB Dispatch in Winchester. Surveillance video shows the theft, which took hours to complete. Then, on Thursday night not long after the story aired on WKYT, the truck was spotted. A man called police saying it was unusual for such a nice truck to be in the spot it was in.

Police have dusted the outside of the truck for prints and they're still trying to figure out who took it. The owners arrived Friday afternoon and recovered the truck. They say its CB and satellite radios were both stolen, but the truck appeared in good shape.

"I honestly never thought we'd see the truck again. I''ve heard of trucks stolen. It's hard to run up and down the road in a stolen truck. They are usually parted out, cut out, the motor and transmission sold separately," said truck owner Randy Morris.

The owner says this truck is part of the lifeblood of their business.

The truck theft is being investigated by both the Clark County Sheriff's Office and Kentucky State Police.
