A Clay County man is behind bars and charged with assault, following a stabbing Wednesday in Laurel County.
William Smallwood of Manchester surrendered at the Laurel County Sheriff's Office early Thursday morning.
Smallwood allegedly stabbed of 44 year old Tommy Smith in the abdomen following a fight.
Smith was flown to the UK Medical Center.
