Two arrested in Clay County murder case

CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Two men have been arrested in connection with a Clay County murder case.

Kentucky State Police tell us Gerald Lee Sizemore, 52, of Manchester, and Vernon R. Delph, 46, also of Manchester, were both arrested in connection with the death of Eli Marcum.

Troopers began investigating when a report was received in December of a person found dead on Saw Mill Road in the Crawlfish community. Marcum's burned body was later found. He had been reported missing about a week earlier.

Police continue to investigate. The two men are listed in the Clay County Detention Center.

According to the jail website, both are charged with murder. Delph is also charged with possession of methamphetamine. Sizemore is also charged with wanton endangerment.
