Police say a 12-year-old stabbing victim is recovering at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center after being stabbed by another child.

Danville Police say the child stabbed the older boy Sunday night. They say the victim's injuries are not considered life threatening.

Police charged the 10-year-old boy with assault and released him to the custody of his mother.

Authorities aren't releasing either boy's name, due to their ages. They will also not say what type of dispute led up to the stabbing or how the two children are acquainted.
