Police now say a man who ran his truck into a central Kentucky home over the weekend was trying to get away from them.

36-year-old Chad Troute is charged with DUI, along with seven counts of wanton endangerment.

Investigators say a witness behind Troute's truck saw him firing shots from his vehicle.

After Troute was taken into custody, police say they found a handgun, several magazines of ammunition, handcuffs, and mace in the truck.

Troute's truck crashed into a home on Mitchellsburg Road in Boyle County, causing a lot of damage.

Two children were inside a living room when the crash happened, but no one was hurt.
