Mark Webb says he and his kids were in their living room Sunday night when a car crashed into their house and sent glass and debris flying all over the place..all of which nearly missed hitting his two kids.
“So I immediately jumped up and grabbed my 3 year old daughter, who was dancing around the front of the window, landed on top of my son..glass was flying,” said Webb Monday.
Mark’s wife, Amy, ran out side..and tried to offer aid to the man, that police have identified as Chad Troute.
“I was asking him, are you OK? Can you breathe what happened? He was just mumbling things,” said Amy Webb.
Police say before the crash, Troute was observed going 90 mph on small country roads, he had open beer in his car, and that he was even firing a loaded weapon out his window, at other drivers.
Webb didn’t have long to talk to Troute before police showed up and quickly arrested him.
“The policeman had stopped right here in the road, ran up here, grabbed a gun out of the man’s pocket,” said Amy Webb, who also says that police found a total of two guns with Troute. A police report listed several rounds of ammunition that were also confiscated.
Troute remains in jail under no bond…and the Webbs are in a hotel waiting for their house to be fixed. But they’re not angry that it happened, just thankful no one was hurt.
“Things can be replaced but lives can’t,” said Mark Webb.
Troute was charged with DUI, 7 counts of wanton endangerment, and criminal mischief.
