Pizza delivery driver punched during robbery

Police are looking for a man who punched, then robbed a pizza delivery driver in Danville.

The robbery happened just after 9 p.m. Wednesday near the Meadow Run Apartments on Main Street.

Danville Police say the 28-year-old driver, who works for Domino's Pizza, had just made a delivery in the area.

When she came to a stop sign, police say a man approached her car, and knocked on the window.

When the woman tried to drive off, her car stalled.

Police say the man then opened the car door and punched the victim in her face.

"He then at that time took some sort of a sharp object, we believe it was a knife but she didn't actually see it, and held it against the back of her neck and demanded money," Assistant Danville Police Chief Tony Gray said.

Police say the victim handed over the money she had on her.

The woman suffered facial injuries, and even has scratches on her neck from where the sharp object was held.

Danville Police say they are looking into where the driver made her last delivery, before being robbed.

Police ask anyone who might have seen anything, or anyone who has information, to call police.

Police say the suspect is a white man with a small build, who had what appeared to be a tattoo of a spade between the thumb and index finger of his right hand.
