Truck stop clerk attacked by robbers

An early morning robbery has left a clerk injured and police looking for two suspects.

The robbery happened around 2:30 a.m. Monday at the Bluegrass Truck Stop on North Stewarts Lane in Danville.

Police say the clerk was working the overnight shift alone when two men came in and robbed and assaulted him.

The victim told police he didn't see a gun, but he was led to believe the robbers were armed.

The victim was forced to open the cash register, and the robbers got away with an unknown amount of money.

Police say one of the robbers was wearing a black shirt and black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, brown shoes, gloves, and something that covered his face.

The other suspect was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes, and a red bandanna covering his face.

Danville Police said it appears the suspects had a getaway car waiting at a nearby warehouse.

Police say the clerk's injuries were minor. They also believe the robbery was an isolated incident.
