Some people in a Boyle County neighborhood had to be evacuated early Tuesday morning during a standoff which later ended with the suspect being arrested.
The Boyle County Sheriff's Office was called to a home on Hustonville Road around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, after getting reports of a suicidal man who had fired a shot.
Deputies say by the time they arrived, the man, whom they identify as 37-year-old Jefferey Graham of Junction City, had barricaded himself inside an outbuilding. They say Graham then fired shots at them.
Deputies then evacuated people living nearby as a precaution.
After two hours, deputies say Graham ran out of the building, asking them to shoot him. Instead, they say they subdued Graham with a taser. He was then arrested.
Deputies charged Graham with eight counts of wanton endangerment (police officer), two counts of attempted murder (police officer), disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
Graham was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.
