Tourism Officials Hope For Spinoff Revenue From Equestrian Games

DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) - For tourism officials in central Kentucky,
it's not too early to start looking for spinoff opportunities from
the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington.
Cathy Rutter, director of community affairs for the games, is
helping area communities with their planning and promotions aimed
at luring Equestrian Games spectators to their attractions.
Adam Johnson, executive director of Danville-Boyle County
Convention and Visitors Bureau, said the bureau is working with
tourism counterparts in the 15-county bluegrass region to
coordinate activities.
He plans to work closely with his Mercer County counterpart
because both counties share a rich history reflected in numerous
attractions.
