The Garrard County High School Band Boosters are calling out to the community, to help give a teenager a chance to live a full life.
The Booster Club has opened a scholarship fund for 17-year-old Alesia Faust to make sure the girl will have money to continue her education and live, following a tragic event earlier this week.
The girl 's mom, Linda Faust, was murdered by her brother in law. The man reportedly shot Linda Faust, and then turned the gun on himself. Alesia witnessed the entire event.
So the high school band community is finding a way to lighten the load on this child's life. "We have set up a fund for her at Farmer's National Bank in Danville", says Angie Billingsley, normally when we have a death we send flowers to the funeral home. But in this situation that just didn't seem like enough", she added.
Billingsley says you can donate money to the Alesia Faust College Fund at any Farmer's National Bank.
It's hoped that people will also support Alesia by attending her mother's funeral. It's scheduled for Sunday April 6th at 5 p.m. at the Preston Pruitt Funeral Home in Danville.
