Aunt Pleads Guilty For Toddler's Cocaine Hit

DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A central Kentucky woman has pleaded guilty to four counts of wanton endangerment after her 18-month-old nephew tested positive for cocaine last fall.

Jessica Coffman of Danville faces a recommended sentence of three years in prison if she fails to complete a five-year diversion program.

The 25-year-old Coffman and her sister, 21-year-old Ashley Carrier, had four children in the house when police arrived after the boy started acting strangely. He later tested positive for cocaine at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center.

No cocaine was found in the house, though the children did have access to prescription drugs.

Prosecutors say Carrier is still negotiating the terms of a plea agreement and could enter a plea next month.
