Driver of ambulance injured in Danville crash

DANVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - An investigation is underway into a crash involving an ambulance.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. Thursday on South Fourth Street in Danville.

Police say an ambulance, with its lights and sirens on, was going through a red light when a car hit it.

Danville Police say the driver of the ambulance, Jim Gies, was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

No one else on the ambulance was injured, including a patient on board.

Police say the driver of the car wasn't injured either.
