Police say they got a frantic phone call from a man who told them he was out of town and his wife may be in danger late Tuesday night. Police say when they went to the address, 39-year-old Leslie McPherson met them outside. Officers say she was intoxicated. Police say she had told her husband that there were strangers in her home and they were trying to kidnap her.
Officers went inside and found a man and woman. The woman, Jane Turk was passed out on the couch and then taken to the hospital for a possible alcohol and hydrocodone overdose. The man, James White, was sitting on the love seat and had also been drinking.
Police quickly realized the two had been invited over to the home by McPherson.
Police say McPherson's 8-year-old child was neglected and had watched the three adults drink and possibly take drugs.
As police called child protective services, McPherson ran out of the back door of her home trying to avoid arrest. She was found down the street where she was charged with alcohol intoxication, endangering the welfare of a minor, and fleeing and evading.
Turk was still in the hospital at last check. White was able to leave the home and was not charged.
