Danville's police chief going to Somerset

DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Danville's police chief and director of
public safety has announced that he plans to retire at the end of
March to become police chief in Somerset. Jeff Peek will be going
home. He's a native of Pulaski County.
The 45-year-old Peek has been with the Danville Police
Department for 24 years. When he took the chief's job in 2002, he
said he only planned to serve for five years. He said he had
already decided to retire in July and return to Pulaski County, but
moved the process up by two months after learning about the
Somerset opening.
