People living in Boyle County town will head to the polls next week to vote on expanded alcohol sales.

Danville is holding a special election for people there to see if alcohol should be sold in gas stations and convenience stores. Currently alcohol can only be sold in restaurants seating 100 people or more.

Small business owners feel they should be able to sell alcohols in more venues. It's believed alcohol sales will revitalize the community economically.

Those against expanded alcohol sales feel it will contribute to substance abuse problems, drunk driving, higher crime rates, and a moral decline.

Citizens will get to weigh in on the issue in a special election on March 2.
