Obituary - Myron “Poochie” Fortune

Myron “Poochie” Fortune, age 58, of South Street, died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born December 6, 1951 in Boyle County, he was a son of the late John Leslie Fortune and the late Hortense Jones Lynn. He retired from the Danville School System as custodian. He also was a team manager and trainer for the football team and track team.

Survivors include his brother, Herbie (Mary) Fortune of Louisville; sister, Betty Simpson of Danville; nieces, Alice Simpson and Angie Triggs; nephew; Glenn (Betty) Simpson; great-nieces, Anita Simpson, Kaila Simpson, and Tina (Larry) Bruce; great-nephews, Leroy Robinson, Alan Simpson, and Orlando Simpson; and special friends, Chris Ross and Richard Caldwell.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 2:00 PM until time of service.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Heritage Hospice.
